FAQ Online-Services and Library

  • How do I manage my university account?

You can find out how to manage your university account and IT services using their Web Single Sign-On (WebSSO) here.

  • How do I gain access to the wifi at LUH?

You can activate the internet service Eduroam (Education Roaming), which is internationally accessible for students, as soon as you are enrolled. You can find instructions for accessing the service here.

  • How does Stud.IP – the central leaning management system at LUH – work?

Information on how to log in and use Stud.IP can be found here.

  • Which LUH online and IT services do I have access to?

All students at Leibniz Universität Hannover have access to a wide range of diverse IT services. You can find an overview here. It is up to you which of these IT services you use. In any case, it is recommended that you install the VPN client with the help of which you can also access the university network from home and remote locations. This is particularly practical for research work and accessing online databases that are only open to members of the university. You can find step-by-step instructions here.

The university's own cloud storage "Seafile", the literature management programme "Citavi", and the anti-virus programme "Sophos" are also useful for data management during your studies.

  • How can I borrow literature and access online databases?

The university library (TIB) is your first point of contact when researching specialist literature. At www.tib.eu you can search for monographs, specialist journals and anthologies (do not forget to tick the box "Search only in the TIB library catalogue", as the database also lists works that are not in the collection). To borrow literature, you need a library card. You can find out how to obtain one here. Your library card gives you access to all five TIB locations. The first point of contact for your studies in Religious Studies is the History/Religious Studies site. However, you will also find relevant literature at the Social Sciences and Conti-Campus locations.
