What skills do you need for the course?

Firstly: A willingness to read

The Study of Religion (Values and Norms) program is reading-intensive. Expect to read roughly 30–60 pages per session in seminars and lectures.

Secondly: Proficiency in English

English is a key language in academia. In Religiousthe field of Study of Religion (Values and Norms), much of the relevant literature is published in English. You will therefore need to read and analyse English-language scholarship from your first semester onward.

Thirdly: an interest in historical, empirical and Social Sciences issues

The Study of Religion (Values and Norms) is an academic discipline. Personal religious beliefs or spiritual quests for meaning are relevant only as subjects of research. You should therefore have an interest in engaging academically with historical, empirical and Social Sciences issues.
