Public transport
Directions from Hanover Central Station:
From Hanover Central Station, you can easily reach the university by tram. Walk about 400 metres to the central interchange station “Kröpcke” – or take lines 1, 2, 3 or 7 for one stop to get there.
From Kröpcke, you have two options:
- Take lines 4 (towards Garbsen) or 5 (towards Stöcken) for about 5 minutes to the stop “Königsworther Platz”. The building at Schloßwender Straße 1 (red brick building) is located right there.
- Alternatively, take lines 6 (towards Nordhafen) or 11 (towards Haltenhoffstraße) to the “Christuskirche” stop. From there, it is about a 5-minute walk to the university campus at Königsworther Platz.

Car
From the north (A2):
If you are travelling from the north via the A2, take the “Herrenhausen/Zentrum” exit and follow the B6 (Westschnellweg) towards the city centre. After about 8 kilometres, turn left onto Bremer Damm (towards the city centre) at a traffic light-controlled junction. This will take you directly to Königsworther Platz after approximately 2 kilometres.
There you will see the Continental Tower of the university campus diagonally to your right and the building at Schloßwender Straße 1 to your left.
From the south (A7):
Travellers coming from the south via the A7 should leave the motorway at the “Hannover-Süd” exit and take the Messeschnellweg (B6) towards the exhibition centre. After passing the exhibition grounds, follow the B65 (Südschnellweg) towards the city centre.
At the “Zentrum” exit, leave the expressway and turn right onto Hildesheimer Straße at the traffic lights. This ends at the City-Ring, where you turn left towards “Universität – Herrenhäuser Gärten”. You will pass Aegidientorplatz, Friedrichswall, Leibnizufer and Brühlstraße until you finally reach Königsworther Platz.
There, on the right, is the university’s Continental Tower, and shortly afterwards the building at Schloßwender Straße 1 (red brick building).
