Public guest lectures as part of the seminar "Debating the Secular"

In May, June and July there will be three online guest lectures via Webex. Everybody interested is cordially invited!

In the context of the seminar "Debating the Secular", we're exploring, among other things, the question of the extent to which Western categories such as "religion" and "secularity" are suitable as analytical concepts for global, cross-cultural research. There is a lively debate on this in the Study of Religion and related disciplines. To discuss the issue, we have invited three distinguished colleagues who represent different positions in the debate: Prof. Russell T. McCutcheon, Prof. Christoph Kleine and Prof. Detlef Pollack. The public guest lectures will take place online via Webex.
